Not religious, but curious as to what Daryl is doing in Alaska?

So let me explain why I do what I do in Alaska. Know when people find a job they really love and know that they are meant to be there? That is kind of how it is. Working at camps has been an interest and an investment of 11 summers (including a year-and-a-half internship).
I was first invited to Alaska in 2005 as a counselor for the summer at Victory. From there, I was asked to comeback and help start up the audio visual department with a few friends. With the love I have for my work, I’ve contemplated staying at Victory full time. The internship done in 2009-2010 reinforced my calling to work at Victory.
This last summer I still helped the AV team produce videos, but I preformed new tasks that reflected more of what I would be doing in the future. Projects such as design work, promotional videos, and advertising took up much of my time, as well as organizing different weekend events for the counselors.
For all of the years that I have worked at Victory, God’s hand has been evident in everything being done. Yes, there have been times that I have gotten upset with God and figuratively (and sometimes physically) shook my fist at Him. But when I gave up my work and projects to Him, everything just flowed and turned out beyond anything I could have imagined. He is the reason why I am doing what I am doing in Alaska.
