THANK YOU

I want to say thank you to Pastor Dale and the Community Independent Bible Church in Little Meadows for giving me the opportunity to share this morning. It's hard to condense down everything God has shown and laid on my heart, and the ministry work the Victory is doing. Thank you again. It was an honor.

Q&A DIALOGUE

So... I have been having a fun time having conversations with Joshua Newman & Erin Johns on Facebook. A lot of good questions have come out of these conversations that I have heard a lot of people asking.
I light of all of this, I challenge all of you to send me your questions via Facebook message or e-mail (hmupdate@gmail.com). Ask me anything about what is going on, what is going to happen, my thoughts, when will I return to AK, etc. Hopefully it will create a good dialogue.
Ball is in your court... GO!

Good Morning, Good Evening & Good Night

Depending on where you are when you are reading this, one of those above statements is true.
My life hasn't been too busy lately. It has been a mix of interesting projects and little God moments.
With support raising, it has been a little slow. I'm breaking out my bubble at this time, and trying to make contact in church I have never been to. It has been hard, but it is something I need to do to gather enough support.

ROCC on the other hand has kept me busy. We have a after school discipleship time, as well as a Super Bowl party planned. The event has been a huge hit the last few years, and in the last two years we have had three 20 minute break out sessions with topics applicable to teens. There is also a gospel message and tons of games and activities. And of course we have the Super Bowl game on as well. I've been helping getting some games put together for the event, as well as assisting one the groups presenting a breakout session.

This week I finished up a project for the Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center. They will be presenting a video and speaking with the teens that will be showing up for our Super Bowl party. Since I am one of the few people in the area with video editing skills and tools, I was asked to help edit down a video for them.

The last few weeks I have been planning to put together a small promo video to post here and to send to supporters. I hope to have that out within the next month.

I am still seeking part time work to help with expenses as I travel around and seek to move to Alaska when support gets to 100%. There is a large number of people hiring in my area, but when I mention Sundays not being an option for me, they are quick to say that the job isn't for me.

That seems to be it for now. Continue to pray for doors to be open, as well as for a project I am currently in the brainstorming stages of.

P.S.- How are you doing? Feel free to write and fill me in on what is going on in life. It has been fun messaging and catching up with various supports and prayer partners.

New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a great time either visiting or sharing fellowship with friends or family. For those that stayed home by yourself wondering what to do, I've been there.

For New Years, my mother and I got a chance to drive down to Huntingdon, PA (outside Philadelphia) to spend time with my sister. New Years Eve was spent at Longwood Gardens in it's night time glory. It was a great weekend of meeting some new people, seeing some familiar faces, and getting plenty of time to think and talk with God.
As the clocked ticked down the final hours, and as people woke up the next day, some individuals set out or planned to do something different this year. I'm not sure how many people plan some sort of New Years resolution. Personally for me, I haven't really created one. I'm not the type to do so. But I did want to share some goals I have for this year.

Goal #1: Be bolder in my support raising.
- I have managed to talk with many people I am familiar with, and started branching out to individuals and churches that I don't know. But now I must venture out into a further unknown. For me, I am fairly shy, and I hate asking people for support. As I am going through the process of raising support, it is continually growing my faith, and making me rely on God, and not my own abilities.

Goal #2: Return to Alaska
- I have been told that I should just return to AK for a job or to set up a support base up there. For those that know me, I love Alaska. Being part of the work being done at Victory is a dream for me. But straying from what God wants me to do is not on the agenda. I could start a support base up there. And that will happen at another moment unfortunately. As of right now, my goal of returning to Alaska in March is looking bleaker every day. In reality, I'm not sure that I will be at 100% support by then. I do want to return before summer. Camp needs all the help it can get for the summer, plus it would allow me to get started on promotional material. But I know it is in God's hands, not mine.

Well, those are the two big goals of mine. There are a few other things that I want to accomplish. I intend on going through my two crates of notes from my first year in Bible school, as well as find some sort of job that doesn't take me away from support raising. 2011 was a challenging year. But I can't wait to see what God is going to do in 2012.
